This is your comprehensive guide to Southampton’s Musical Alphabet as part of Music Nation weekend - a countdown event to the London 2012 Festival. Travel through the alphabet with us on a musical journey across Southampton. Throughout the weekend the city will come alive with a multitude of sounds as internationally renowned artists, local professionals, community groups and young people’s ensembles all join together to take us from A to Z all in 26 hours.

Taking place on 3-4 March 2012, Music Nation will be a unique collaboration of the UK's orchestral and music-making communities, and a key feature of the BBC’s contribution to the Cultural Olympiad. The Musical Alphabet is Southampton's contribution to this nation-wide event with 26 hours of music over one weekend. The finale of the weekend is a concert at Turner Sims with international artists Rob Buckland (saxes), Simone Rebello (percussion) and Jason Rebello (piano). If you play the saxophone or a percussion instrument you too can be involved in this event and join them live on stage! There is a possibility the concert will also be recorded by local BBC radio or television.
